The Rather Unfortunate Plight of the Nauga

NaugaNaugaHunted for their skins, the Nauga are a persecuted species that may soon face extinction if they are not helped. Campaigns dating back to 1981 (ah, the blessed 80's) and banker Al Rosenburg have tried, but failed to stop the needless slaughter of countless Naugas. PETA efforts are largely focused on animal rights, but PETA activists have long ignored the plight of the Naugas, perhaps due to the inferior quality of the products made with the Nauga, or perhaps due to rather nefarious reasons we do not yet fully comprehend.

It could also be due to the misinformation that the Naugahyde people are spreading about the Nauga in their claims that the Nauga does not, die for the sake of its skin, but rather sheds it willingly. For the company's claims, please visit their website.

To counter this ridiculous claim, I only have to go back to the buffalo of early Western Americana. Did the buffalo also willingly give their skin? No, they did not. Does the lamb willingly give its skin for a leather jacket to be made? No, it does not.
